Group Training, Classes and Events
There is always the opportunity to form a small group (2 -4 people) for regular personal training sessions. Group training reduces the cost of personal training sessions and can make it more fun! You can put a group together yourself with friends or ask us to match you up with other interested people. Costs will vary so just ask us about this option.
All of our classes are open to the public and booking and memberships are not required unless indicated. We are presently offering the following classes:
- Tai Chi – Tuesdays 10:30 AM
- Heartmovers – Wednesdays 1:00 PM
- Yoga – Wednesdays 12:00 PM
- *Strength & Movement – Thursdays 10:00 AM
- Pilates – Thursdays 11:30 AM
- Line Dancing – Thursdays 1:00 PM
Tai Chi, Heartmovers, Pilates and Line Dancing classes all cost $8 per session, payable at the time of the class.
*Strength & Movement is a fixed program and is requires pre-booking so please call (03) 6221 1675 to be put on the class list. This class costs $20 for gym members and $25 for non-gym members, but is paid in advance for 6 sessions. Many private health funds will give rebates on this class as it is run by accredited Exercise Physiologists.
Tai Chi Sessions
The Yang Style of Tai Chi is the most widely practiced style among the 5 families of Tai Chi around the world today. This style of low impact exercise can be performed by anyone and beneficial for everyone. Tai Chi has been researched in western medicine and is widely used in many healthcare regimes for people with:
- Obesity and Diabetes
- Parkinsons Disease
- Dimensia and Alzheimer’s
- Total knee and total hip replacements
- Falls risk (low balance)
- Depression & anxiety
Even if you don’t have any of these above-mentioned health conditions, Tai Chi can improve your ability to find a sense of well-being which can lead to improved strength, awareness, self-confidence and reduced stress and tension. Experience the strength and energy of Tai Chi in your life! These are held on the beautiful Wrest Point lawns or in the Show Room during winter and run by Wendy Hartshorn.
